May I introduce to you the Member for Cabramatta the Honorable Reba Meagher MP.
Well what a bright spark our Reba started out as back in 1994 when she retained the seat for the Labour Party after the death of Paul Newman.
For those of you who can remember Paul Newman was the first political assassination in Australian history, and his loss in such a manner sent some very unsettling shock waves through a community that for the most part, supported him in his efforts to clean up Cabramatta.
Our Reba’s first speeches in parliament reflect the community feeling about Paul Newman and his death. She made what at the time was seen as brave and defiant statements about carrying on with Paul Newman’s changes to Cabramatta and not letting his ideals die with him…….in fact upon reading her speeches I can know recall why I voted for her in the first place.
How times and people change. Re-reading over Reba’s speeches and statements since and you get the very strong feeling of a tired old weak maid.
Considering the resent and not so resent bungles by the Department of Children Services, major issues with the public hospital system and lack luster performance all round from the Labour Party you start to wonder if they have lost the stomach of government.
Here’s a hint for you Reba if you not “ready to rumble” on our behalf then get out of the bear pit. We don’t want half-arsed efforts.

Dr Hans Thewissen with Indohyus
“They determined that the bones of the skeleton of Indohyus had a thick outside layer, much thicker than in other mammals of this size. This characteristic is often seen in mammals that are slow aquatic waders, such as the hippopotamus today. Indohyus’ aquatic habits are further confirmed by the chemical composition of their teeth, which revealed oxygen isotope ratios similar to those of aquatic animals. All this implies that Indohyus spent much of its time in water.”

Though we now know that the banning of Westfield’s Santa saying “HO HO HO” was an exaggeration. And both Myers, David Jones and Westfields to their credit released statements assuring the public that the “HO HO HO” will not be “Going, Going, Gone” from their Santas, which then they proceeded to then poured a large amount of marketing dribble over the whole thing.
[dust off my hands, case closed]………[or is it?]
The fact is that so many believed it. At first like everyone else I reacted to the news with a mixture of horror, disgust and anger, but then my common sense kicked in. So a total (when I last looked) of 375 commented about the article after only being posted for a few hours on ninensm, nearly every paper in the country has had a go at the story and last nights news……anything sound wrong to you, you know something missing????
We have war in multiple places in the world, children suffering in some way shape or form, drug and alcohol abuse rampant, bad traffic, a state government that’s lost it’s marbles (if it ever had them) and we get all in a huff about what some guy in a red suit that was given to him by a large multi-national soft drink company because it fitted better with their marketing plans……..stuff Santa, who cares what he says, as long as somewhere along the line we all stop, think, reflect upon just how good we all have it and give a little something to the local charity (at least).
I would now like to take the opportunity to say Happy Birthday to Jesus Christ ninensm - Sydney Santas rebel against ho-ho no-no

Today is International Disturbed People’s Day.
I don’t care if you lick windows,
talk to dead squirrels,
or occasionally hit yourself…
You hang in there sunshine,
you’re Bloody special.

A work mate whilst waiting on hold sent us this via email.
“How come in this modern world we live in where time is so valuable (in business) and precious ( in leisure )we have so much time to wait on hold while waiting to speak to Customer Service of most large companies we have to deal with”
Andy 5th December 2007 while on hold
After many jokes about waiting on hold until it’s time retire, cartoons showing a skeleton holding a phone and many Scott Adams’s Dilbert cartoons later. Our Andy sent one last email from “hold” that we hope will change the world.
Maybe someone should organise a National ” I will not hold “” day
We haven’t heard from Andy since we hope that he has plenty of water and biscuits to make it ’til the end of his shift.

Not an electrical shock, more slang for an electrician. Long story start when I ask people what name they gave their computer ended with giving a name to my welding machine.
I however am not electrican, welder and metal fab by trade. I have always had the odd way of find new jobs that have nearly nothing to do with the last one I had.
Example: Check-Out Chick to Welder
